Studio817 is a nonprofit organization founded in Arlington, Texas, with a name rooted in place and purpose. 817 reflects the local area code and represents our commitment to building opportunity in a community we know well, including one of the most economically challenged zip codes in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. We were created to help people turn creativity into career opportunity by building pathways through the arts that lead to sustainable work, skill development, and community impact.

Why the Arts Matter

The arts develop skills that extend far beyond performance or creative practice. Through movement, design, communication, media, and other forms of artistic work, people strengthen confidence, collaboration, leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving — all skills that transfer directly into education, work, and everyday life.
